These terms apply to Almost Legal Business — the subscription service at almostlegal.ai/business and the workspace at almostlegal.ai/fleet. They are a business-to-business agreement. If you are using an Almost Legal consumer tool instead, the consumer Terms apply.
Almost Legal Business is operated by Almost Legal Limited, a company incorporated in the Isle of Man under company number 139020C, registered office 9 Tynwald Street, Douglas, IM1 1BF (“we”, “us”, “Almost Legal”). Contact: hello@almostlegal.ai. Our Business Privacy & Data-Processing Notice is incorporated into these terms by reference.
This service is sold to businesses for purposes relating to their trade, business, craft or profession. By subscribing you confirm you are acting as a business and not as a consumer, and that the individual accepting these terms has authority to bind the business. Because this is a B2B contract, consumer-only rights — including the statutory 14-day cancellation/withdrawal right — do not apply.
Almost Legal Business is a suite of AI-powered self-help tools that generate documents from the information you provide — fine appeals, debt-recovery letters, legal letters, contract reviews and business templates.
We are not a law firm and we do not provide legal advice. Nothing the service produces is legal advice or a substitute for a solicitor. The output is a starting point; the decision to send, sign or rely on any document is yours. For any matter carrying significant legal or financial risk, take advice from a qualified solicitor.
4.1 You access the service through a company workspace. Each seat is one named user with their own login. You are responsible for your users’ access, for keeping login credentials secure, and for all activity under your workspace.
4.2 We verify your business at sign-up — registered companies and LLPs via Companies House, and sole traders and partnerships by business name and postcode — to apply the one-trial-per-business rule and to put a verified business name on the documents we generate for you. You confirm the business details you provide are accurate.
5.1 The service is sold as a subscription, billed monthly or annually (annual plans are twelve months of use for ten months\u2019 payment, billed once a year). The Legal bundle unlocks fines & appeals, debt recovery and legal letters; the Operations bundle unlocks contract review, templates and the business tools; Complete and above unlock everything. Current plans (per month, ex VAT):
| Plan | Price (per month, ex VAT) | Monthly credits |
|---|---|---|
| Legal bundle | £49.99 | 50 |
| Operations bundle | £49.99 | 50 |
| Complete | £79.99 | 100 |
| Complete 250 | £149 | 250 |
| Unlimited | £499 | Unlimited (fair use) |
5.2 One credit entitles you to one document generation across the tools your bundle includes. Credits are a monthly allowance that resets at the start of each billing month (including on annual plans); unused credits do not roll over. The Unlimited plan has no credit cap and is subject to our fair use policy: it covers the reasonable document volume of a single business operating in good faith. If we reasonably believe an account is being used unfairly — for example shared across multiple businesses, resold, used to bulk-generate documents for third parties, or run at volumes far beyond normal use for a single business — we may require the purchase of an additional subscription (seat), or suspend or revoke access. We will normally give 14 days\u2019 notice, except in cases of clear abuse.
5.3 Prices are stated excluding VAT. VAT is added at the applicable rate and itemised on your invoice. We may change plan pricing or composition on no less than 30 days’ notice, effective from your next renewal.
5.4 Free first month. Eligible new businesses get their first month free on the Legal bundle, the Operations bundle or Complete (monthly billing only). No charge is taken until the free month ends; if you cancel before then you pay nothing. The free month is limited to one per business, determined by the verification signals described in clause 4.2 and our anti-abuse checks. Complete 250 and Unlimited are billed from day one.
5.5 Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically (monthly or annually per your billing period) and your payment method is charged on each renewal date until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store card details.
5.6 Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid month; you keep access until then. Except where these terms or the law require otherwise, monthly fees already paid are non-refundable, and we do not refund for partial months or unused credits.
6.1 You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter. The documents we generate reflect what you tell us — wrong input produces wrong output.
6.2 You are responsible for deciding whether and how to use any document. This matters most for documents that make a legal claim or threat — debt demands, letters before action, claim-making correspondence. You must confirm the facts are true before you send them, and you must not send a demand you know to be incorrect or that is not properly due.
6.3 If a court, tribunal, regulator, authority, counterparty, debtor or other recipient rejects, refuses, sanctions or responds adversely to a document, that is a matter between you and them.
You agree not to use the service to:
We may suspend or terminate access, without refund, for breach of this section.
You will input personal data about third parties (for example debtors, drivers and contract counterparties). As between us, you are the data controller of that personal data and we process it on your instructions as your processor under UK GDPR. The terms of that processing — what we do with it, our sub-processors, security and your obligations — are set out in the Business Privacy & Data-Processing Notice, which forms part of this agreement. You confirm you have a lawful basis to provide that data to us for these purposes.
9.1 The service, its software, branding, prompts and underlying systems are owned by Almost Legal Limited or its licensors. Nothing here transfers ownership of those to you.
9.2 The content you submit remains yours, and you own the documents the service generates for you, with a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use them for any lawful business purpose.
We rely on third parties to run the service — currently Anthropic (AI generation, under a no-training arrangement), Stripe (payments), Clerk (authentication), Vercel (hosting), Upstash (data storage) and Resend (email). The Privacy & Data notice lists what each handles. Their performance is outside our direct control.
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any document will be accurate, complete, fit for a particular purpose, or accepted by any recipient. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties not expressly set out in these terms, including the implied terms as to satisfactory quality and fitness for purpose under the Sale of Goods and Supply of Goods and Services legislation.
12.1 Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
12.2 Subject to 12.1, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the service, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, is limited to the total subscription fees you paid in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
12.3 We are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill, anticipated savings or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss, in each case whether direct or indirect.
12.4 We are not liable for any fine, penalty, judgment, settlement, costs order or adverse decision imposed on you by any court, tribunal, regulator or authority, whether or not the matter involved a document generated by the service.
You will indemnify Almost Legal Limited against any claim, loss, damage, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the service, your sending of any document we generated, or your provision of third-party personal data without a lawful basis.
14.1 We may suspend or terminate access on notice (or immediately, for a serious breach or a legal, security or operational risk). 14.2 You may cancel under clause 5.6. 14.3 On termination your right to use the service ends; we will handle personal data you provided in line with the Privacy & Data notice.
We may update these terms; the “Last updated” date shows when. Material changes are notified by email to the account owner and take effect from your next renewal. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.
16.1 These terms (with the Privacy & Data notice and any plan details shown at checkout) are the whole agreement between us for the service. 16.2 If any provision is unenforceable, the rest stand. 16.3 No failure to enforce a right waives it. 16.4 You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign to a successor of our business. 16.5 Nothing in these terms creates a partnership or agency between us. 16.6 A person who is not a party has no rights to enforce these terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Isle of Man, and the courts of the Isle of Man have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may bring proceedings to recover sums owed or protect our intellectual property in any jurisdiction in which you operate.
