General contact: hello@almostlegal.ai
These Terms govern your use of any Almost Legal service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Almost Legal services are AI-powered self-help tools that generate documents on your behalf, based on the information you provide. Examples include parking-ticket appeal letters, contract analyses, complaint letters, CV rewrites, and similar.
We are not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice. Nothing produced by any Almost Legal service is legal advice and you should not rely on it as legal advice. The output is a starting point — what you do with it, including whether to send it, sign it, or act on it, is your decision.
If your situation involves significant legal, financial, or personal risk, consult a qualified lawyer in the relevant jurisdiction.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the service. By using it you confirm that you are.
Anyone purchasing credits is required to create an account so we can deliver the credits to you, track your balance, and let you use them across our products. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us at hello@almostlegal.ai immediately if you suspect your account has been accessed without your permission.
5.1 Credits are sold in three bundles. The displayed price at the point of purchase is what you pay — currently:
| Bundle | Price (GBP) |
|---|---|
| 1 credit (PAYG) | £4.99 |
| 3 credits | £9.99 |
| 10 credits | £24.99 |
US-dollar and euro prices apply at equivalent rates and are shown at checkout. Bundle composition and pricing are subject to change for future purchases.
5.2 One credit entitles you to one document generation. Credits are portfolio-wide: a credit purchased on any Almost Legal brand can be used at any other Almost Legal brand listed at the top of these Terms. Credits are non-transferable between accounts.
5.3 Credits do not expire. Once purchased, they remain on your account until used.
5.4 Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. By submitting payment you agree to Stripe’s terms of service in addition to these Terms.
6.1 Because the documents we generate are bespoke digital content delivered immediately on request, you waive your right of withdrawal under consumer law for any credit you have already used to generate a document.
6.2 If you purchased credits and have not used any of them, you may request a refund within 14 days of purchase by emailing hello@almostlegal.ai. We will refund unused credits in full to the original payment method.
6.3 If a generation fails for technical reasons on our side, we will re-credit your account so you can run the generation again at no further charge. Tell us at hello@almostlegal.ai. Outside the 14-day window in clause 6.2, our remedy for service failure is replacement credit, not a monetary refund.
6.4 We are not obliged to refund you (in money or in credit) because you disagree with the document we produced, or because the document did not achieve the outcome you hoped for (for example, an appeal that was refused). The service is the generation, not the outcome.
7.1 We grant you a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use any document the service generates for you, for any lawful purpose. Once delivered, the document is yours.
7.2 You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you submit. The document we generate reflects what you told us — if your input is wrong, the document will be wrong.
7.3 You are responsible for deciding whether and how to use the document. If a court, regulator, employer, landlord, or counterparty rejects, refuses, sanctions, or otherwise responds badly to a document generated by an Almost Legal service, that is a matter between you and them.
You agree not to use any Almost Legal service to:
We may suspend or terminate your access without refund if you breach this section.
9.1 The Almost Legal services, websites, branding, logos, prompts, training data, and underlying code are owned by Almost Legal Limited or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of those assets to you.
9.2 The information you submit through the service remains yours. Once your document is generated and delivered, we do not retain a copy of your submitted content or the document we produced. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.
We rely on third-party providers — currently Anthropic (AI generation), Resend (email delivery), Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting), Clerk (authentication on almostlegal.ai), Upstash (data storage), and Supabase (where used) — to deliver the service. Their performance is outside our direct control. The Privacy Policy lists these providers and describes what they handle.
11.1 The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any document generated will be accurate, complete, fit for any particular purpose, or successful in achieving any outcome.
11.2 We make no representation that any document generated by the service will be accepted by a court, tribunal, regulator, parking-enforcement body, employer, landlord, or any other recipient.
11.3 To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties — express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — that are not expressly set out in these Terms.
12.1 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
12.2 Subject to clause 12.1, our total aggregate liability to you arising out of or in connection with the service, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, is capped at the total amount you have paid to us in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
12.3 We are not liable for: loss of profits, loss of business, loss of goodwill or reputation, loss of opportunity, loss of anticipated savings, loss of data, or any indirect, special, or consequential loss.
12.4 We are not liable for any fine, penalty, judgment, settlement, or adverse decision imposed on you by any court, tribunal, regulator, parking authority, employer, landlord, or other body, whether or not your interaction with that body involved a document generated by an Almost Legal service.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Almost Legal Limited and its officers, employees, and agents from any claim, loss, damage, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the service, or your use of a generated document in a manner that breaches the rights of a third party or any law.
14.1 We may suspend or terminate your access to any Almost Legal service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or if continued access poses a legal, security, or operational risk to us or to other users.
14.2 You may stop using the service at any time. If we terminate your account for reasons other than your breach, and you have unused credits at the time of termination, we will refund the original purchase price of those unused credits to the original payment method.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the service you confirm you have read and understood it.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page tells you when. Material changes will be communicated by email to active customers and prominently on our websites. If you continue to use the service after a change becomes effective, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the service and request a refund of any unused credits under clause 6.2.
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, civil unrest, government action, strikes, internet failures, third-party service outages, or pandemic.
These Terms (together with the Privacy Policy and any product-specific terms displayed at the point of purchase) form the whole agreement between you and Almost Legal Limited in relation to your use of the service. They replace any earlier statements, representations, or agreements (whether oral or written) on the same subject.
If any part of these Terms is found by a court to be unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remain in effect.
A failure by us to enforce a right under these Terms is not a waiver of that right. We may still enforce it later.
You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent. We may transfer ours to any successor of our business on reasonable notice.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Isle of Man. The courts of the Isle of Man have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any dispute arising out of or in connection with them, except that we may bring proceedings against you in any jurisdiction in which you reside or operate to enforce our intellectual-property rights or to recover sums owed.
